I bought this TV the other day but am not too thrilled with the picture quality.
The picture doesn't seem sharp and clear enough and dark scenes are almost unwatchable.
Tried tweaking most of the screen settings but they're not making much difference.

Have it plugged into a Sky digibox via RGB scart.
The built in tuner on this set is even worse if your only have an antenna.

On the plus side the picture quality when hooked up to my PC via the DIN socket is superb.

Am thinking about returning and exchanging this tv for a different make/model, but only paid £500 for it.
Was considering that Grundig LCX17WSI from Dixons/Currys but it's not widescreen and out of stock in most branches.
Anyone have any suggestions for a good 17" widescreen LCD for around £500 because I've seen zilch at this price bracket.

I think that you will find that this is what you will get for £500.

I have bought a Relisys RLT1720 and its the same.. Soft picture, poor blacks.. But I knew that before I bought it. What you are paying for is the flat screen and new (cool) technology.

You have to pay lots to get an LCD which comes close to a CRT, and whilst £500 is a lot for 17inches, its not enough.

If you are nmot happy with it, your only choice would be to get a refund and wait a few years for the technology to improve and the price to drop.

    Alex,

The Grundig LCX17WSI is widescreen - there's a clue in the model number. Bargain at £399 as it was originally £699.

I've had a 15" LG LCD since September, but I still haven't even opened the box yet!
I might take a look at it later in the week to see if it's the same.
