I've got a marantz sr5400, a pioneer dvd player and a hitachi plasma screen.

Need to find out ya pples opinion bout how to connect the video cables! I plan to use component cables to connect it up. However, should I connect the dvd player to the screen directly? or can i connect it through the AV receiver?

Will it make a big difference in quality if i do connect it through the marantz?

Also, any recommendations on component video cables would be greatly appreciated! Audio interconnects tooo!

    pleeeeese heeelp! :lease: thanks!!!

You can connect it via the AV receiver or you can connect it directly. If there is no necessity (say, lot's of sources with component out but limited inputs) then it's a matter of practical implementation, i.e. one run of cables or two.

Most likely not. Depends on the equipment though but of course a direct connection would be more 'purist'.

You can use any 75 Ohm Video-Cable for the component connection. For audio use cables with 50 Ohm impedance.
