    Hi ,

I currently have the Mirage AVS-500 sub/sat system and want now to upgrade. This system is great with movies but not so good with music. Hence i want a system that is great with both.
I,m in a detached house and my lounge measures 17' x 15' with usual furnishings and TV in a bay window , speakers to either side , you know the score! My current Amp is the Pioneer VSA-EO6.
I want to spend around £2000 - £2500 for Amp and speakers. Or should i keep the Amp and spend say £1000 - £1500 on speakers only. Is it worth upgrading the Amp as well ? Perhaps to the Denon 3802 ? But which speakers ? I like movies to be loud and kicking but well controlled and listen to dance / rock / pop , music

    All help much appreciated .

    Kev

I've finally completed my setup after much unhappiness and i'm stunned now:

    B&W 603 S3 front speakers. £600
    LCR600 centre speaker. £350
    601 S3 rear speakers. £250
    REAL Q200 subwoofer. £500
sony str db 1070 amp. £500

That's provided me with the latest B&w speakers which are so much more detailed and refined. Best value for money anywhere and even beat the existing CDM range in my oppinion. A centre speaker is very important, and the new lcr600 is the best by a mile for the price. Unless you want to spend £850?

Do you need a sub or not? If so then go for a rel www.laservision.com

And the amp...well its personal taste, maybe a sony isn't good enough for you.

But please check the new B&W range out as they really are great.

I see that you missed out on Currys special offer.

What do you mean that "A Sony may not be good enough for you".

If it's good enough for you and me it's good enough for anyone.

    regards

    Ian
