Hey, need help and been told that you lot seem to know what you are talking about. Here it goes...

Moving into a new house on the 1st of July and shall want a TV ready for around that day. My budget is probs anything up to about £850/£1000. I am probably looking for about a 32"-40". It will mainly be for my consoles, 360, PS3 and Wii but i would still like it to have freeview built it too make it easier. It will need HDMI and component at least. I dont know if im asking for too much for my price range though. People say to me about all this 1080 and 720 but i dont quite understand it all! From what ive been told 1080 (whatever that is) is true high def or something like that.

    ANy recommendations or help please?

P.S. If it helps, im from Chester and round here we have the normal stores, dixons, currys, comet. Then theres Richer Sounds. Would internet be better?

    Hi

If i was to reccomend a tv for gameing with 360/ps3 its got to be the
    SAMSUNG LE40M86BD

    http://www.*/Samsung-LE40M86BD/

its a full hd panel 1080p which will work fantastic with the ps3/360 as this is the highest resolution they support so you will be getting the best possible picture quality from them both.

There is already a massive thread on it here with all kinds of info on the set http://www.avforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=511377

Have you thought about asking the same question in the plasma forums??

Just think maybe you look at both technologies....???

If you want to use it a lot for gaming, I personally would stay away from plasma. I know some folk use their consoles on plasma without any worries, but I read a post on this forum that after a 5 hour guitar hero sesh, their plasma had quite a bit of image retention.

LCD all the way for gaming.

I have both, and wouldnt dream of having a mammoth sesh on the plasma.

    Just my 2p

Fair point but I think people worry too much and having played over 10 hours straight on Xbox I have no problems at all...Think Poeple just have their settings too high and get retention..Although this goes after about 10 mins anyway...(seen it off the radar in HALO) although this was a 3 year old pioneer 434 (not a modern plasma) and yes it sooon went....
