Question Which TV do I buy?

Novice Member
I am in the market for a new flat screen tv. I am hoping to find a deal on Black Friday or cyber Monday. It has to be less than $1,000USD though ideally closer to $400USD if possible.
The flat screen must be at least 48" but ideally closer to 60"

I need to mount this to the wall (and thus need to buy a mounting system too).

we basically use the tv for sitcoms, though sports are the next most watched programs. Can anyone offer me any help or suggestions please? I'm a novice at all this. I don't need any bells or whistles. Just a good quality tv.
Thank you
