I know about the Packard Bell tv-100 and lifeview 2000 cards being the best for capturing sky and connecting to a pj.

I have advertised on the fs forum without success so I wondered if there were any clones that were just as good but had a different name?

A search of ebay found some with the Philips SAA7130 chip, is this the same? It has lifeview on the card but doesn't mention the model number.

    Here is the link

If that is no good, could you suggest some others to look for?

    Many thanks

    Dave

I think the Pinnacle PCTV stereo has the same chipset.

DaveP, why are these cards the best for capturing Sky? I am guessing these cards have a s-video interface?

They are very cheap (mine was about 30 quid) and they have an incredibly clean S-video capture. The one thing is that you'll obviously need a sky box with svid out but these are easy to come by.

That looks exactly the same as my packard bell one to be honest, even the remote control is the same so I'm sure it'll be fine.

"best" is also a relative term. Very good value - yes, but they are limited by being s-video only.
