Im looking for a good LCD tv, that can be wall hung, works well with a pc, and operates with good quailty pictures when using it as a tv.

I've got a buget of £550, and i think i've narrowed my choice down to the acer 27" or the asda dual 27".
I can get the acer model for £500.

Which would be the better out of the two or are there any other models which would be better for my needs?

    thanks

The ASDA one is a 26" and is now a watered down model. The DL2602 has no longer got the twin tuners of the 26-1, does not have the wall mount bracket, instead it has a VGA connection cable but does allow PIP IF you use PC as one source and TV as the other. In my opinion, its significantly less value than the 26-1 was but it remains £489.97

If you care not about two tuners, probably one good reason for the ASDA one would be the no quibble warranty. I know because I had to take my 3 day old 26-1 back this week and get a replacement.

the acer has DHCP compatabilty over the DVI connection which is usefull if you intend to keep your tv for a good few years

My mates Acer looks great - only issue is a noisy fan, I think he has sourced a silent one from a PC mod site. Otherswise a cracking TV

    Hi Bitflip,

Received my Acer 26" lcd (al2671w) from dabs.com £505.99 inc delivery on Friday.
Must say that given a good feed the picture quality is awesome.
I have it wall mounted in the bedroom, connected to a Toshiba DVD via component (scart2, lead included) & freeview box (quality ok) had it connected to my PC (DVI). Half Life & Doom3 are stunning, but best of all was the Hi-def stuff from Microsoft's site. AWESOME.

At the price, for a Hi-Def TV it's fantastic value.

Got mine on saturday and i am blown away by some of the xbox360 720p trailers also hooking up my cheapo (£45) dvd player (over component) and outputting a progressive scan signal looks great :)

I have it connected to my Windows Media Centre 2005 pc and the media centre upsclaes the freeview tv signals in a great way (connected using vga at present, dvi soon), when compared to a direct rgb scart from the setpal box

the speakers are pretty good as well especially when using the 3dWOW setting and the correct bas level

a big plus point for me is that it is future proof due to the fact it supports DHCP over dvi (which all high dev blueray/hddvd will require to output a high def signal)
