    Well...

I currently have a real crap little Yamaha sub which I do not really use at the moment.. Looking into buying a good quality sub to work with my mission speakers.. but it must be a small neat package..

There is no way on gods earth I will get some of the monsters I know other forums members into my living room. (or past the missus ;) )

Anyone got any suggestions.. lets say not costing more than £500.

Does anyone have any comments on the Rel Quake  or MJ Acoustics or the Gallo MP-150 (which I hear is quite small and built like a tank)

Open to any comments.. I really know nothing about subs - so enlighten me :)

    Thanks

    Matt

I have never heard the Rel Quake, but judging by other people comments it's probably best avoided.

I do own the Gallo MP-150 though, and it really is a great little sub, fantastic performance, and everybody that has heard it agrees.

    Highly Recommended!

    Ok...

couple of quick questions... I understand you can run the sub away from the power module.. am I right in assuming that you have a phono running from the pre-out on your amp to the sump-amp and then another phono from the sub-amp to the sub itself ?

Also a more general sub question.. if you have your crossover set at the amp at 80hz for example.. what do you set the sub to ( as I believe it also has a crossover ?)

    Thanks

    Matt

Please educate me I do not know why people slag the REL quake or any other REL sub for that matter.

I owned a Monitor Audio ASW210 and that sub was totally useless on many occasion I e-mailed Monitor Audio with my disatisfaction and basically they did NOT want to know.

Either these people who are commenting on these subs are spending thousands of pounds or is they something I do not know because the magazines I read Home Cinema/Home Entetainment give REL/quake a very good right up indeed.

I listened to the rel quake demoed by rel at the manchester hi-fi show and it sounded awful, I also listened to the gallos sub which sounded great-no contest in fact. (both in similar rooms)
