    Can anyone help here?

The sub needs to be sealed. I don't want multiple subs.

no one can really help because you haven't given a definition of good nor listed any constraints (everyone has constraints)

Pb13 is good but I want better. I want roughly the same depth but better control. Constraints will be price. Being £5000.

I thought the constraint was price but this implies price and, presumably, space

what about room size & seating area? what mains do you have/want to integrate with? is it music and HT or just HT?

I have monitor audio platinums. Space is not an issue as I have the pb13 and its massive. The room size is 5 x 4m and 3m tall. And I am 95% home cinema.

Another constraint is that the sub shouldnt need to be imported in.

should or shouldn't? I assume you mean shouldn't as it would be odd if you said "imports only" :)

If you mean UK distributors, Power Sound are. For some of the others need to import yourself (check voltage)

if you really want to maintain the low end output of the SVS then you are going to need a lot of sealed sub, for example check the list here -> Data-Bass and keep going til you see a single sealed sub (and also note how high up the SVS is)

Your budget helps though. Your choice probably boils down to something like

a bigger JLs (fathom v2 probably? I don't know their range)
    PSA T-18
Paradigm Sub1 (or Sub25 if one can be found)
    a pair of KK 12012

You could also look at something like PRO AUDIO TECHNOLOGY - LFC-18sm but I have no idea how much they are, @sammy the squid can probably give you a clue.

I think a single LFC 18sm retails near £5k. However, that doesn't include the Amps. Pro Audio recommend utilising the subs in pairs and as such, the Amps for these come in a 2 channel configuration. I'm pretty sure the amp would cost you more than a single sub.

I might be relisting my Paradigm Sub2 again shortly in the classifieds. The retail price is now £11-£12k. Has the looks and the performance to beat the Pb13 Ultra into a hat. It obviously comes at a price.

What the Ultra 13 has is depth. But that's it as far as I'm concerned. For the right money, it can be beaten with subs available here, but it will come at a cost and in most cases require multiples (not where the Sub2 is concerned though :)).

Edit: @mattkhan, the Pro Audios are ported designs, bar the LFC 14sm which is sealed.

Sub 2 would be too expensive.

I don't mind sacrificing a little depth if the other bits are better.

I think mine was advertised at £6k previously and that's what I'd be looking for again. If you're looking for a single box solution that is not a Diy effort or imported..then you're pretty much running out of options...certainly for beating the depth of the 13 ultra and maintaining the top end.

Imported meaning import tax. Also has to run on UK without step down.

The problem with the seaton subs is the better ones are 110v.

no that's not true, they use speakerpower amps which have a 240V version. @AidenL just imported a pair in fact.

May I ask why it has to be sealed?

I know some will say that it's not really a sealed sub if you need to use bungs but have you considered the xtz 3 x12?

My HT is exactly the same size as yours (funnily enough I have platinums as well but now only for stereo in another room).

My 3x12 sounds wonderful now that I've got the antimode and is streets ahead in all regards compared to my previous SVS PCU13.

Perhaps worth considering? It would save you a heap of money that you could spend on other kit!

Since you only want one, then you need to get a better one. A single SB2000 I don't think will be sufficient, for movies in medium/large room. Go for SBU13 then

    Also Power Sound T18.
