which should i go for, and are there any other packs i should consider?

not sure on what amp to use with them yet, but it couls possibly be the

    How about for £257:-

and that'd leave you enough money to buy a subwoofer like the vx-10 in the power buy section (around £200). Slightly more than your budget but worth the little extra for a decent subwoofer. I've had the M71 package in the past - i still use most of it for my rear sound stage . It is a really good package imo and will perform admirably for both films and music. You'll be hard pressed to find anything better for the money , but, why not go and have a listen at your local dealer and make your own mind up. I used the Yamy Ax620 at the time so I'd imagine the similar ax630 would complement the speakers well.

Hifi Choice reviewed the Mordaunt Short package here and rather liked it, awarding it four stars.
