    Hello Petrolhead,

The M-Audio Dio, Delta 410, Audiophile or maybe the new revolution should be your choice.

If you want more high end, the RME are superb at £160-£210, depending on model.

The choice depends on the quality of the rest of your AV gear.

    Mark.

Will be used to output digital signal only to Denon 3802 with Kefs and Rel Sub if thats any help.

The RME Digi96/8 is the one to go for but a bit out of my price range so looking for cheaper alternative.

I've had a Videologic Sonic Fury for years now and, with the exception of the long wait for XP drivers, has been of stirling service.

Enter the Creative Audigy 2, bought mainly for the THX spec., which will be plugged into a cool Megaworks 5.1 THX speaker package. I'm waiting for the speakers to arrive so can't comment on the sound yet but I'm expecting BIG things.

    Audigy 2 here.

Settled on an A2 + NAD integrated amp stack after coming to the conclusion (through various demos) that I couldn't really top it without spending over £500 on a receiver. Very happy so far. :)

If it's cheap digital output you are after then take a look at the Philips Acoustic Edge. Apparently very good in that respect.

    Well I took the plunge.

Was a bit of a fluke as my Creative DVD has started vibrating somit rotten so decided to buy a newun. Went on the Overclockers.co.uk site and decided on the Lite-On, I then had a look at soundcards and noticed the MAudio Revolution was now in stock so rangand just ordered. Nowt like messing about

    Crumbs, this can get obsessive.

So all thats left if to await delivery, Scard, DVD Rom, Video Card, Quiet Fan and IRMAN ---- Phew I nee a lie down :smoke::D

PS If it all goes S*&t face I can always sell the gear on this site :)

Our home computer NOT is not a HCPC.

But we have a SB Audigy Platinium 2

So far I have used Optical out for MD transfer, stereo in for video in sound for DVD mastering, and DVD-A analogue out.

I'm afraid 32" TV is nicer than 17" LCD monitor!

I'll stick with my "Turtle Beach Montego Digital I/O ".
It was in a close-out sale at Frys in Sunnyvale (Silicon Valley) about 26 months ago ($50).
    Never seen these in UK.

    Chris Muriel, Manchester.

I'm using a Stereolink 1200 external USB DAC. My crappy speaker & amp are the only things holding it back. It's stereo-only, but the DACs are supposed to be very good. Very friendly for my dual-CPU setup too. The SBLive!, Audigy 1/2, Turtle Beach Santa Cruz, Hercules xxx, basically all but the pro cards, tend to give dual-cpu machines the BSOD every so often.

19" CRT monitor better than the only 14" TV in the flat!:smashin:

Got the card seems easy to setup but no support for Win98 so went for Win 2000 as I could not setup WinDVD 4 to S/PDIF out.
