So which do I go for, Sennheiser RS 170 Closed or RS 180 Open.

Bit of a difference in price but I'm not sure what the benefit is of the 180, apart from distance.

    Anyone tried both?

Open headphones leak sound, closed don't so much.
Depending on where and when you intend to use them this could be the main consideration :smashin:

Primarily in the Lounge but I can see myself wandering into the Garden.

The RS180's are the slightly better 'phones and if you are going into the Garden then the range on the RS180's is slightly further. I generally find that the seperation on the instruments is a little more pronounced on the RS180's. Both use Kleer technology so the wireless transmission is pretty much as good as it gets.

The closed model is ideal for movie watching at night, bass is more emphasized. Like previous said, both are good..it comes to a personal choice.
