    Hi folks,

Got a new Sony 28" FX66 and wandered if there was any merit in upgrading my SCART lead? I currently use a bog standard shielded lead which was about £13 initially if I can remember correctly.

Also noticed watching ITV1 via Sky Box tonight that a wide black vertical band appears either side of the picture - wasn't there on terrestial ITV though!!!

A better scart will improve picture especially the Sky menu system, Look at Scarts from QED and Thor as well as others Lektropacks do some nice ones as do Monster. Depends how much you want to spend!

Thanks for the info, do I order these over the web or will I be able to get them from the likes of JL/Comet etc?

    £30 mark I thought for a lead?! :)

I bought all my leads (3 x 5m flat scarts,75Ohm sub cable, banana plugs etc) from this guy. (Hyperlink below)
They are Tech-link metal cased with gold connectors fully pinned and individual oxygen free screening. I'm no expert but am very impressed with the build quality, picture and sound.
Send him an email as he was very helpfull and sells a vast range of quality cables and connectors at excellent prices. I found him less than half price of many retailers for the same cables.
By the way I'm not connected in any way - just impressed with service and kit.
