which is the better seeting for resolution on the ps3 blu ray player: 720p or 1080i?
Whichever looks best to you, try them both and see which you prefer. What screen are you connecting to?
its a sony kdep42mrx1 with no hdmi port but through component, its 1366x786 resolution
You'll probably find that 720p is better for fast motion but 1080i will probably give you a bit more detail. Best way to decide is to try them and pick the one you prefer (too many opinions flying around about the merits of 720p and 1080i over each other IMHO).
thank you mate, aprreciate it
Well if you select both options in the PS3 menu ....... what will the film play at - it's optimal that you're TV can handle - i.e. in this case, 1080i ???
but sometimes the native res can be better, ie 720
I tried 720 and 1080p on my panny px70, upscaled dvds look better at 720, blu rays cant really tell
