This forum has been a great resource as I have struggled through the multitude of DVD Recorders - thanks to all. I'v just seen the latest reviews in Which? magazine on DVD recorders. The top 5 are : JVC DR-M1 Panasonic DMR E55 Sony RDR GX3 LG DR4912 Liteon LVW 5005 B This was quite a surprise as elsewhere the Panasonic sweeps the board. Has anyone got a view on the JVC and why it's voted tops ? Which? picked it out for its picture quality and easy of use. In terms of DVD Recotrders with hard disk its top 5 was: Panasonic E85 Topshiba RD XS32 Sharp DV - HR300H Pioneer520H-S More interestingly it recommended not purchasing a DVD with a hard disk and instead going for a PVR and DVD recorder. This seems madness!! 1. You then have 2 machines (and 2 remotes) 2. As far as I know PVRs cannot edit recotdings ( I maybe wrong) and this seems to be the key reason for selecting a HDD option. I'd be intestested to hear what you all think. Currently I'm leaning towards purchasing a Pioneer DVR220 which isn't even mentioned !! This seems to be one of the best on the market for price, compatability (I've go a Pioneer player), and would be good for recording from NTL and archiving tapes.
