I believe all releases will have the same content - just the film + a small featurette - so it's down to price I think & if you prefer PAL/NTSC.

Actually, the R3 available from CDWow comes with some postcards and Amazon have a special R2 set complete with 3 graphic novels for £37. But as I said, if it's just film you're interested in and not some fancy packaging then it's down to price & PAL/NTSC preference.

Are these a reprint of the normal comics? and is that all of them?

    Amazon deal
Yes i never really read them, so was wondering if the novels add anything if you read them beforehand, or watch the movie and read after? Might get this amazon deal for completeness if thats all the novel/comics.

 Mine arrived today from Movietyme

When you order I can highly recommended them. All comms have been outstanding and the service has not been better from anywhere else I've ordered from.

They are reprints - I don't think that's all of the graphic novels, just the relevant ones to the film. I'm no expert though as I haven't read them myself, so someone else here may know better.

I think you can pick up the graphic novels for around a tenner from Forbidden Planet - Play have some in stock too, I think.

No official word on the extended SE release, only mentioned in a couple of interviews by Rodriguez that it is coming - but Tarantino said the same thing about Kill Bill 1&2 SE's and we're still waiting for them aren't we?

Also, if Harry Knowles is to be believed, the SE will not contain the theatrical cut of the film (again, no official word yet but Knowles is a mate of Rodriguez) so you pays your money and takes your choice.

Just got my region 1 release. I'd never seen this before - what a great film! A lot more violent than I was expecting as well - the wife spent most of the film looking at a cushion.

For the record the R1 has superb picture quality and the DTS track is good (although I did feel that the centre channel narration was perhaps a bit too loud in comparison to the rest of the film but perhaps that's just me - better than being too quiet I suppose).

considering the magnitude of this film, i doubt we'll have to wait too long for a special edition. Besides, Rodriguez is a fan of SE dvd's and is of the opinion that a dvd should always be loaded with extra features, so it's more or less a certainty it'll come out. I bet we'll see the SE in time for Christmas.
