Wondering if anyone knows which recorders are available that will do dual layer discs and what software do I need to upgrade my computer or does it require a new DVD drive?

    Any help would be appreciated

    Thanks

You need a new drive and they are only available for a PC not standalone. Pioneer and NEC make some of the best dual layered multi-format drives out there, have a look on www.svp.co.uk for prices. Regarding software I believe the latest version of nero does it. If you get an OEM drive you will need to purchase the software seperatly.

i don't think there is a standalone dvd recorder that can record onto dual layer dvd.

the only option you have is to get a dvd writer for the PC. There are several external and internal dvd writers that write onto dual layer. They start from £50ish.

At present there are several mags reviewing DVD writers.

Regarding software it should be supplied with the DVD drive. Also check if it is supplied with editing software such as nero6.
