Which Receiver?

I'm having an overhaul of my set up after my Pioneer amp gave up.

I've just bought the KEF KHT8005 speaker set and was looking at possible receivers to compliment them. Ive spotted a Pioneer LX53 for a decent price but would this be over kill with KEF's?

Any experience/advice greatly appreciated.

Get the best receiver you can afford. I wouldn't worry about any AV Receiver being "overkill" when you're talking about speakers of the quality you have. Have you visited a dealer to have a listen to a few options with your chosen speakers?

No the speakers where a bit of a punt really from an online dealer in a decent deal, I just wanted something a little neater with the missus always on my back about my "ugly" wharfdale floor standers.

The Pioneer seems a deal too good to turn down at £600, although I was contemplating an Onkyo 607 off the classifieds for £130ish.

So many choices, I even seen a Pioneer AX10 which was the cream last time I was in the market going for £300

I'm now looking at either the ONKYO TXNR609(380) or Pioneer LX52(500)

Would I notice the difference running the Kef KHT8005's????

Thanks for the reply, I've just went for the Pioneer 2020 but imagine I'll get an email saying it's out of stock. I'll have a look at those if it falls through.
