Just ordered some Aegis Evo Compact Speakers for my rear effects. And I really need to upgrade my Boyes special 3 core electrical cable I have currently.

Can anyone please recommend speaker cable for the job, ideally no more than £4-5 per metre? They are to be driven either by a Marantz SR 5300 or a Denon 2802.

Any help would be much appreciated.

I wouldn't even spend more than £2 for rear cable, let alone upto £5m/m .. try some 16 gauge from Dixons (think 15 or 20M for £17)

Gale Hyper-latz 250, £2.50 per metre. Very open, detailed and easy to hide.

IXOS 6003 got it off a guy on Ebay for £1.25 / m normally around 3 or 4 a metre.
Sounds good but see my other questions about positioning.

Gonzo, where'd you find the QED for £1 a metre? Cheapest I can find is £1.50.

I use unbranded 79-strand cables for the rear speakers.

I use 1.0mm lighting cable for wiring up my rear speakers, picked up that idea from a late 80's Hi-Fi mag.

I use Chord Carnival with my Aegis Compacts as rears. £2.50 per meter with the advantage that it has a white jacket around the cable....

I use Cable Talk 3.1 for centre and surrounds, QED XT300 for fronts.
