Having looked around at buying a Pronto I am a bit confused with the models available.
Philips website lists two - the RU930 and the RU970.
The RU930 seems the best for me but there also seems to be available an RU940 and RU950- what are these model?
Is one a replacement for the RU930?

For those of you who have one, is the RU930 a good version to have?
Found it (potentially) for £133 which seems very low. OUtright flexibility is not essential as I only have 5 or 6 devices to control.

    Thanks
    Andrew

I was thinking about the RU930 and was put of by the small screen. The 940 is more of a superior control IMO.
If you are looking for a control which has a few hard buttons and are not to fussed with a big screen then go for the 930, if not then for the same sort of money you may as well go for the 940.:lesson:

From the little I found out recently I think you'll find the 970 is just the latest variation of the 940 model which in turn replaced the 890. I think the main difference between the 890 & 940 was memory, 1Mb & 2Mb respectively. The 940 is colour where the 890 & 940 where B&W.

The 930 is also refered to as the Neo and is less user configurable, that doesnt mean it's no good as it might be exacly what you need.

I might be wrong with all that tho, as like I said it is from information I found when I was deciding what to to buy recently.

I went for a second hand 890 in the end

Thanks for the comments so far.
In the process of looking around I have also come across the Marantz RC3200.
Any comments on this model too?
I know it is, like the Philips 930, a base model, but they seem to do what I want.
More concerned about any issues with ease of use or problems users have encountered.
The Marantz also seems easier to find stock of!

    Thanks
    Andrew
