This seems to be a popular topic, but despite my best efforts
and trawling through the forums, I'm still stuck.

Basically, which DVD player from these would you recommend?
(I will be connecting it to a Panny AE100 projector via component)

My budget is £350. I have just returned an Arianet 2255
due to appalling picture quality and severe ghosting on
    Progressive Scan output.

Kenwood DVF-R9050 £300 - Allegedly this can be modded
via a DVD-R to support PAL Progressive

    Skyworth 1050P £200

Philips 963SA £308 - Remote hackable for multiregion & PAL prog

    Toshiba 520e £200

    Any suggestions?...

The Tosh does not do Pal prog

Do a search for the Phillips, seems to be a reasonable player.

    Done know anout the others

You should probably add the Limit 9900SE to your list. I had one of these into an AE-100 and was very impressed by the pal progressive picture via component. I took it back due to a noisy transport on the two I tried but there's lots of people on the forum that are happy with it. Have a search.

I think RicherSounds are selling it for £149 now but it does seem to be a 'love it or hate it' player. I bought a Toshiba 220e as an interim player until pal progressive becomes dead common.

I've also seen mention on this forum of a Harmon Kardon and a Marantz player now outputting pal prog.

    Regards

    Richard

    Cheers,

I'll pop down to my local Richer Sounds then and try and
demo the Limit player - although with my luck I will get
    a dodgy player!

So now I have about 6 different DVD players to choose from..

    Life is oh so hard...
