yes either splash the cash and go for the PIO or consider the TH-42PW7B Panasonic and the TH-42PHD7 Pannasonic (latter is an HD screen) both of which have HDMI inputs boards available to buy soon (long story Ship fire all stock up in smoke) the two pannas are panel and Pio is a TV there is a 43" Pioneer Panel the 433MXE available at very similar money to the panny so i suggest you go and have a few demos of eacha and decide which is right for you

HCMI is no better than a HDCP compliant DVI-D connection (unless you need to transfer audio, which you don't if you are considering a speakerless panel).

So you could go with the PW6 with DVI-D board.

I've just added a Denon DVD-2910 via DVI to my LG 42PX11, and the picture is stunning.

thanks for the advice, i really like the pan 42w6 plasma and their great prices out there, but i thought the low pixels meant iwouldnt get the full benefit of the 1080i output from dvds via my 2910 so lower quality pics?????????

A relative newbie to this myself, but a panel is purely a display and needs something connected to it to actually show anything, a TV has an inbuilt tuner that allows you to watch tv channels without any additional kit.

a panel will also usually not even have speakers unless you pay extra, a tv will usually have something (again allowing it to replace your ordinary tv)

    Hope that helps

In This Age Of Sky Digital And Dvd Surely Everyone Serious About Tv/movie Viewing Does Not Really Require A Tv Tuner Or Sub Standard Speakers, I Moved Into A New House 4 Years Ago And Never Even Bothered To Fit A Tv Aerial Only A Dish????

Yet bizarrely enough you do bother to start every word with a CAPITAL.

true but you still pay for the tuner and speakers so if you Sky and 5.1 system you really dont them.....So why pay for them..
