    Hi all,

I am looking to purchase a plasma screen for less than £1500 (total cost).

I am flexible on screen size: 32", 37" or 42".

My primary requirement is Picture in Picture - basically to be able to play xbox (via scart/AV) and watch the TV at the same time. This is so i can play xbox and have sounds coming through AV receiver into headphones and Girlfriend can watch her soaps.

Also it pretty much needs to come with a desktop stand, as i'm hoping to put it on my current TV stand. The TV signal will be analog.

I have been looking at the LG RZ42Px11 - which i've found for about £1420 including delivery. It looks great, with twin tuners and 42" screen, and loads of inputs.

The only thing is that it seems to have some lip sync issues(list in this forum) also it doesn't have any audio outputs? so i couldn't put the TV through AV receiver if i wanted?

Are they any other models I should look at?

    Advice please... :lease:

    Thanks,

    Scott

p.s Do you get reduced frame-rate when viewing split screen?

Try a Panasonic TH37PWD7, it's a monitor only, you'll need some speakers, which it can power if need be, and a TV reciever, like a freeview box. There are pretty much zero hassles with this screen, some reading here will tell you the LG is a less than satisfactory purchase for many people. LG have been correcting 'problems' with new firmware with monotonous regularity, and it still seems hit or miss.

When you do split screen on the pwd 6 it does not just split the screen it keeps both screens dimensions so you get 2 square pictures with a black bar top and bottom, I dont think you would want to play on one half and watch tele on the other (but you could do)

With that Richer deal, you could get the panasonic and a relisys 17" to avoid conflicts!

Yeah but don't you need a stand or wall bracket and an input card bringing the total price up to £1450 approx. Still I guess its within the 1500 budget.

I think i've pretty much decided on the LG RZ42Px11, as it comes with everything and I can still put it through amp with the input/out AV socket. Yes the panni might be better picture, but as an all in one its great!.
It also allows me to migrate it to the bedroom in a few years when i get a bigger/better plasma.

    Thanks for the input. :)

Has anyone seen it in stores for less than £1599 as i'm trying to price match John Lewis down so i can take adv of their 5 yr Warrenty. (need store name and no if poss.)

    Thanks a million...

    Scott

On your own head be it, scott. Have a read of that thread, you'll see all the issues with LG loud and clear, bear in mind that the loudest 'pro LG' man, Neonmod was in fact hiding the atrocious picture he had on scart and has now sent his screen back and had a refund. What these guys call good, some of us wouldn't get out of bed for.
