I'm just about to invest around 4-5 K in a 50"Plasma, DVD and surround sound system.

I'm looking at the Pioneer PDP 505XDE, but need some advice on whether that's the best one to go for, and if so, what DVD and Surround sound to link in with it.

I'll be using it to watch sky (and Sky HD when it launches) and DVD

If I need to spend slightly more to get spot on picture quality etc, please advise

the 505 is grand plasma but even spending £5k you are going to have a very video biased system especially if you want to add surround sound, the plasma to look at as well as the 505 are the PV500 panasonic and Fujitsu P50XHAUS. as for DVD choice that will depend on plasma speakers and amp need to be to taste and budget. Where are you as i am sure we can send you to a dealer who can arrange a suitable demo of possible kit.
