Which out of these two TV's?

Hey all,

Been looking at £500-£600 40-42" Smart TV's and i've decided on two but I really can't choose between them.

First is the Panasonic TX-L42E5B

Buy Panasonic Viera TX-L42E5B LED HD 1080p Smart TV, 42 Inch with Freeview HD online at JohnLewis.com

Second is the Samsung UE40ES5500K

Buy Samsung UE40ES5500 LED HD 1080p Smart TV, 40 Inch with Freeview HD online at JohnLewis.com

Im want a smart tv, 40-42", 1080p, Freview HD and in the £500-£600 price bracket (closer to £500 the better). Those are the must haves really, also it needs to look good and perform well. I will be using it for casual gaming on PS3, generaly tv and movie watching aswell as streaming from PS3 and PC

Im looking to buy from John Lewis really due to their 5 year guarantee but which out of those two is best or is there anything else which I should look at?

wifi makes no difference as it will be hard wired.

is the 50hz difference worth the extra money for a general use tv?

You will have to remember i'm no TV geek thats for sure so im not clued up on the specs etc

the samsung has a RJ45 socket and to get wifi you need a dongle. Im sure the Panasonic can do both as it has both wifi and a lan port
