Can you give me a link to the iRiver offer? That's a blinding price for the 320.

    Thanks downlinmp.

I'd personally go for the H320, but a lot depends on your criteria for selection. What are the important features you'd be looking for?

If you can put something down, I'm sure it will give people a chance to answer you more fully.

    Basically i would like
    20Gb -they all have this,
good sound -not sure which is best,
    and thats it!
Read good reviews on Iriver and sony hd3, but can not find much on Archos and samsung model.
Not bothered with classy looks, function over fancy stuff.

I currently use a mini disc so this will be my 1st MP3.

For that price the H320 looks good. Basically it does everything you could want from a player. Not very well at times, but for 150 quid it's a bargain. The (full pack) H320 cost me £255 with case, display remote and cradle.

Sound quality's not as good as the iPod, but it is better than the Sony NW-HD5 and although there's no multi-band custom EQ, you get to shape the sound in a wider variety of ways than the Sony.

The video playback is pretty choppy, but the screen is pretty clear and vivid. You'll find lots of ways to change the way the player looks at misticriver.net. It's a geek's dream... but it does look geek as well, being ugly and comparatively huge.

Battery run time's respectable. USB OTG's not as useful as I thought since it doesn't seem to talk to the vast majority of the stuff I wanted to OTG. There's a built-in mic for recording (at surprisingly good quality, albeit with some limitations) and also a built in separate line out for attaching external amps, headphone amps, etc. Line in recording quality is OK but can be tricky to get right.

I mean, nothing else for the money you're getting it for will offer the features of the H320 and it's build quality, which is high. It is however ugly, huge and none of the multiple functions on offer are that well thought out in comparison to some other players, although the features are perfectly usable.

Thanks for help. Picked up the last one in the shop, ex display with no charger. But they found one that works and they knocked of a further £20!!! bargain.
    radio reception a bit noisy.

Sounds better than for MD N710. Which is now up for sale
Not tried video yet and am currently ripping loads of cds..Thanks
Any idea where i can get the remote control from?

There are three remote controls for the H320. Two of them are quite readily available in the UK... try advancedmp3players and so forth.

In the UK the display remote control you can get for the H320 is the H1xx / iMP-550 remote. It works fine, but it's a holdover of moronic iRiver design in that you can't plug in most headphones into it because of the shape of the connector socket. Buy the headphone socket extension cable at the same time (about an extra fiver).

The non display one is the one referred to in the manual.

There is a Korean H3xx display remote which is specifically for the players. To get that, go to MisticRiver in my sig, go to the H3xx forum and look for the Display Remote ordering thread.

The non display remote doesn't need the extension lead.
