Sequels I would love to see:
System Shock 3 (I liked SS1 better than SS2)
Janes Longbow 3
Conflict Freespace 3
Battlezone 3 (or is it 4).
Operation Flashpoint 2
Which out of those are likely ?
Manybe Operation Flashpoint 2...
A proper Elite sequel and I believe there is one on the way.
Craig there has been sequels to all of those hasnt there
Miami Vice. (Spectrum) Maybe GTA & GTA 2 was.
R-Type. All though i think there was one on PSX.
I can't remember the other, it was a side scrolling Beat 'em up, like Streets of Rage. I'm sure it was on the Mega drive but could of been on the Spectrum.
Oh yeah streets of rage was a great game.
Impossible Mission from the C64
stay a while, stay foreverrrrrrrrrrrrrr.... whoa ha ha ha
Bioforge was an awesome game, though it probably didn't sell enough to warrant a sequel unfotunately
Stunt Car Racer which I played on the Amiga, a game that was ahead of it's time with very daring gameplay.
just joking, ermm well Mario RPG or Mario Paper
UN Squadron/Area 88 on the SNES.
Virus/Zarch on the Archimedes.
I would like to see some sideways scrolling beat em ups, so a sequl to Final Fight!
Wasnt there a sequel to final fight, or am i just thinking of streets of rage.
Apocalypse, did you manage to play Stunt Car Racer on the Amiga via link-up. It was amazing!!!
I had all the big games that had a link-up mode and they were great: Stunt Car Racer Populous Armageddon Lotus Turbo Challenge I had about 10 link-up games but can't remember the others
I also had a top game on the Amiga called Interceptor, my brother and I must have played that non-stop for about 3 years.
The other games I remember most from the Amiga were Rocket Ranger and other Cinemaware games like It Came From The Desert and Antheads Those were the days... Surely an update of Rocket Ranger would be great!
I think I read there is going to be an update of one of my favourite c64 games as well called "The Last Ninja"
I am always telling my nephews about all the good old games; I am convinced that games are getting worse each year. Technically better YES, but gameplay has suffered very badly over the last 5 or 6 years.
All of my best games with a few exceptions came from the 8bit and 16bit days. Although I am really looking forward to the GC Zelda
Stunt car racer, i completely forgot about that game, i absolutley used to love it
I think negative views of gameplay are created because of the amount of gash games that are released these days.
There still are some extremely good games coming out, look at gameplay in Animal Crossing, CounterStrike, Rez, Advance Wars, Dance Dance Revolution (not really my cup of tea), GTA, Gran Turismo, Resident Evil. Games are advancing towards more interactive and multiplayer skews, on the whole I would say that it is just marred by the crap they release.
Most of these are derived from earlier games, but they represent good progression.
A modern 'Skool Daze' from my speccy days would be nice, or that 'Paradroid' type game
Sequels I'd like to see.
- Summer Games/Winter Games/World Games/California Games (C64)
- Pitstop II (C64)
- Wizball (C64)
- Combat (Atari VCS)
- Slapshot (Arcade)
- Xevious (Arcade)
- Ballblazer (C64)
- Sensible Soccer (Amiga)
- Lords of Midnight (C64)
- A proper Elite sequel, none of this Frontier rubbish (C64)
- Forbidden Forest (C64)
- Enigma Force (Amiga)
- Kickstart 1 & 2 (C64)
- Ballblazer (C64)
Unfortunately I never experienced the delights of the link-up but Lotus Turbo was also another excellent game, trying to drive under the trucks crossing the road on the City level was not for the faint hearted. I absolutely loved Interceptor, landing on the carrier was so challenging at first, even with experience if you made one mistake you blew it.
Other Amiga favourites for me were the Kick off series, Gunship, Jaguar XJ220 and Indianapolis 500. Good times indeed
Rally Speedway, MULE and Archon on the Atari 400/800
Twisted, Need for Speed for the 3DO
Samba De Amigo, Bass Fishing for Dreamcast
I could go on and on...
Paradriod, Uridium, Elite, Miami Vice, Stunt Car Racer, Aviator, Rainbow Islands.
I'm still waiting for Total Annihilation 2 - not sure that it will ever happen though. The original is still playable after all these years. They did bring out an "intermediate" Kingdoms version that was supposed to keep us going until the new one came out - but that was quite tame
Rare + Xbox = Blast Corps 2
Day of the Tentacle, Grim Fandango, and... any of the old Repton games for the Beeb!!
Chaos on spectrum lost me & mates many a night.
Id like to see this updated
Leisure Suit Larry
definitely Grim Fandango, one of the best games ever.
Shining Force! Shining Force! And did I mention SHINING FORCE? Damn you SEGA! Damn you to the rotten depths of Hell! Get off your hedgehog fetish loving ass and give us a new Shining Force! We demand that you right the wrongs you did to us by not releasing SF 3 part II & III in the west! Dooooo it or so help us gods! Failure to comply will result in your inevitable demise, we the members of the house of The Shining Force are populous, powerful and wrought with anger.
Any Thalmus game (Retrograde, Creatures etc)
