which new reciever?

Hi, I have the onkyo 606 receiver and I'm looking to get a newer model! My speakers are mordaunt short mezzo 9 floorstanders with b&w vm1 satellites. I'm looking for a amp that is more geared towards music, though I do love films, I'd like to see what those mezzo's can actually do. I have around 500 to spend, but can be pushed if worth it. So what do you guys recommend?

I would look at the Denon 2311/3311 or Yamaha 1067/2067. Also the Marantz 4005/5005 would be worth a listen.
