My Sansa E260 died, after I accidentally cracked its screen with my keys. I'm looking to buy a new player, but all the current range seem to have non user replaceable batteries. I know at the time the Zen Micro had a replaceable battery but that's gone.

Aside from me getting another E260, are there any MP3 players, 4GB nano style ones, that have user replaceable batteries? Or failing that, batteries that can be replaced without soldering?

I'm also looking for Mp3 players where you can replace the batteries (ideally that take AAA).

Or do I just give up and accept they will be thrown away after 3 years!!

They do sell battery replacement kits for ipods.

I've successfully replaced the battery in an ipod mini, but on the other hand I unsuccessfully replaced the battery in a 3rd Gen Ipod and that was the end of it.

If you are a little more patient than I was then you can change ipod batteries.
