I posted this in the relevant forum but no-one seems to know:
I am planning on upgrading from the 160g Maxtor IDE drive currently in my
Pace v3 box and was going to go with the seagate baracuda 500gig drive
(ST3500630A) that was recommended in these forums but when I was
checking prices and availability on MemoryC.com they have another model
(ST3500630AV) which would seem more suited for use in a pvr:
Key Features and Benefits
16-MB cache
Multiple data streams can be written at once, allowing you to link multiple cameras to the same drive
Video read/write profiles allow greater control over operation
Spin-down feature and PowerOn control allow for cooler operation and power savings
5-year warranty
Applications
Digital video surveillance systems
Digital video surveillance arrays
Should I give it a try?
