Just bought my first camcorder JVC GRD31 now its tape time.

    Quick search has found :

    15 pack Panasonic linear plus £39.95 £2.79 each(mediaforge)
    15(3x5) Panasonic DVM 60 £37.92 £2.66 each(7dayshop)

Is there an obvious answer ?( linear plus)
What other considerations should I have?

For general family home movie stuff.

    Cheers
I'll be back again a lot probably.

I think you'll find that all Panasonic tapes have "linear plus" on them somewhere, I suspect the two you have listed are propably the same tapes via differrent shops. They are both quite good prices and I use Panasonic tapes all the time.

One important point is to stay with whatever you start with, do not keep changing tape types as they leave different deposits on your tape heads and mixing them can lead to clogging and poor performance

Go to www.7dayshop.com for your tapes and possibly camera case etc.
I don't know what prices you've been looking at, but for Panasonic Mini DV Metal Series tapes x 3 it only costs £8.99 + £1.95 P & P.
    5 Tapes only cost £11.99 + £1.95 p & p.

I have used this company a lot and they are very good and very cheap.
