    Considering either of the following...

Athena Technologies Audition Series 400w Sub AS-P400
Klipsch Synergy Series 225w Subwoofer KSW-10
    JBL Northridge 250W Subwoofer E150P
    Velodyne VRP 1000

Or should I just save my pennies for either an HSU or SVS??? thanks

Unfortunately none of those manufacturers have a high profile in UK except Velodyne but the VRP 1000 isn't on sale over here so you will be unlikely to get any opinions on it.

I have the SVS PB-10 which at $429 is only marginally more than the Klipsch and I can highly recommend it

No input on the Cantons from me personally as I haven't heard them but they do seem to be very popular with forum members.

i have a velodyne vrp 1000...i just got it a few days ago..and it works really well...if u have bigger speakers its better because if u turn up the hz it can sound bad.i think mine is at about 70 or 80 and it works really well there.
