The model of which im looking at are

    Toshiba 32wl48
    hitachi new 28ld5200
    sharp lc32ga5e

also considered the phillips which digital direct is selling 30" for around £1299 i think.

this will be used to watch normal tv, Sky, and play ps2 and xbox.

Need to make sure it has decent angles to view too. Pc connection is a bonus, i have shuttle with a svideo still crap on my sony 100hz!

I am waiting to order the tosh but listening to everyone about itachi making me think then seeing the phillips price aint bad but is it good.

Does the tosh hav progressive scan and good angles.

    Thanks

    whats ur budget?

im getting the philips 32pf9986 reduced @ john lewis next week (im price matching the TV) it should go down to £2500 or so within the next 2 weeks.
You also get 5 years FREE warranty with any tv bought from us plus we will match any price anywhere in the uk from a proper retailer shelf price.

sorry to advertise btw its just the free 5 year warranty is worth everyones attention.
id recommend the 32pf9986 if u can stretch to it, it is simply CRT quality in terms of response and contrast, and lcd in terms of detail and colour.
it whips the old models with their own wet pants.

no other lcd comes close apart from the sony mrx1 and the sharp G series (which i have not seen btw) but they are equally as expensive.
most of those lcds u mentioned above are no good for fast 3d gaming.
Response rates are too slow to eliminate all the trailing.
even the 9986 is borderline with games that have very fast frame rates (ie metroid prime, tekken series - just any fast smooth images will blur when moving @ certain speeds)

i was hoping these lcds work ok with games consoles as i hear that the tosh is 14ms if im correct.

    Mike which post?

opps found it the Big one lol... Can u send us a pic email alfie786@yahoo.co.uk much appreciated thanks.

I saw the 17" new lcd from tosh very clear, and blacks do look black which is nice to know compared to the 32wl36 which blacks were more grey.
