Which LCD £500-£600 37-40"

    I am looking for my father a lcd or plasma around 5-600 pounds preferably 37" plus saw this in a dabs brochure for £546.25 Sony KDL40V4000 - 40" any good, in the plasma range Im considering Panasonic TH-42PX80B - 42" would appreciate your opinions :) he watches mainly digital tv & doesnt have any HD inputs like blu-ray or sky but I dont want him blaming me if in a few years he decides he wants sky hd or bluray cheers

    Go for the Panasonic, it will be better for his current SD only needs (espeically if he likes sport). Sky HD isn't 1080p anyhow and blu-ray is pretty darn good on the Panasonic too ;)

    Does Sky only broadcast in 720p then? How about Virgin Media?
