    Hi,

Here in Melbourne, Australia, I can get XQ1, Q5 or RDM1 for the same price.

Just wondering which one out of these three people recommend for both music and HT use.

(For HT will be mated with Q1 at the rears, still looking for the center)

    Any opinions?

I would be tempted to plump for the XQ1 as these are closest to reference series performance although the Q5`s would give you a more homogenous spread from front to Q1 rears. Your call but XQ1 & matching centre for me.

i'd recommend the RDM1 personally. Stunning little speaker but (very) limited bass depth. Search for the RDM2 instead :)

Forgot to mention the speakers will be mated to a Velodyne sub.

Danny, I thought XQ1 has the same uni-q driver as the Q1? If that's the case, not sure how Q5 will integrate much better compare to XQ1.

The only thing that bothers me about the XQ1 is that on paper they only go down to like 60hz; thus pushing the crossover to something like 120hz; too high for my liking. Even the Q1 supposedly go down to like 45hz.

Ritesh,i could stand corrected on this, but i was under the impression that the XQ1 shared the same midrange driver as my reference 203`s.....anyone else care to comment on this? XQ1 also sports a hypertweeter for h-res playback if that interests you. I guess 60hz drop off isnt the lowest on the planet but would have thought that your Velo sub would have filled the bottom end in nicely......oh & they look fantastic (if you like contempory styling)

    Dan :)
