    Hi there
My 3G iPod has recently given up the ghost, and I'm in dire need of a new MP3 player. I had the 20gb model but to be honest I didn't really need that much memory - I only need space for about 1000 songs, so I guess 6gb would be a good size. Which is the best model on the market? I am hesitant about getting another iPod/Apple player because mine was so much hassle - the battery was a problem from day one. Is there a good alternative?

    Thanks

The new Sony walkmans look promising.

    EDIT:
Not sure when they're out though...

I know that Rio have pulled out of the DAP business, but I just picked up a Rio carbon from Comet for £99.00 - It's meant to be a cracking 5Gb player.
