Looking for my first LCD monitor.

I would like to use it mainly for surfing but also for watching movies and maybe the odd game. Isthere one monitor that is widely regarded as the best in terms of picture and response time, dvi etc?

I looked at specs and to me it seems to come down to

    - Samsung sm930bf = 4rms !

    vs

    - lg m1910a - bz = ebuyer has this listed as hdtv-ready, but no other site does

Any of you able to comment on these models or perhaps you know of another one I should look at?

My mate thinks i should get the widescreen 20" dell at £350 but its heavy investment for me.

Nah go for the one with the best warranty. Some of the cheap ones are 1Y return to base. Go for three years on site. Worth an extra few quid. I had a problem with my Viewsonic which I had bought in France when I lived in Paris - I am now in London. Looked on their website, got a number, phoned them up, they tool the serial number which mean they could know the age of the monitor (2.5 years). A courier came the next day with a replacement in a box, and he waited while I put the old one in the box and took it away. They normally do this so you never get the old one back. Worth every penny.

    Cheers

    Rajiv
