  I am abit confused about which is best.
Some say use scart from Sky+ to amp/receiver others say use S-Video + optical (for sound)
    Which is the best option/quality?

I have a Denon DHT-500SD by the way.

    Cheers

I've never tried it with SKY+ but in general RGB Scart is superior to S-Video.

actually i found S-Video to be really good. The worst thing about poor connectors is the crosshatching you get over details and the ghosting + faded colour. but s-video doesnt have any of those apart from faded colour which is where a good quality lead can come in. Ive found most scarts from £20-£100 to be very simular in performance ((not audio though as that can be miles better with a decent scart))

i accept RGB is better in general. But how many sets have no option to increase sharpness ??!!!! sooo anoying. it would be fine if all TV`s were perfectly focused and had exellent geometery but most TV`s ive used havent and seem to handle the scart connection poorley with an image with solid colours but slightly lacking in detail as you cannot alter this when in RGB mode. the TV`s fault though.

So I need to get RBG only scart lead plus optical lead for sound.

What happens if I use a normal fully wired scart plus optical lead,
will the sound go through the optical lead or will it default to using the scart for sound?
