i have denon 3802 with mismatch of components at present mordaunt short fronts and back rears yamaha center speaker mission m70 as surround rears i am going to audition kef q1 as against mission m51 as fronts but would like to change yamaha center speaker for mission center either m77c1 or m7c1 as existing center is rated at 60watt , i spoke to mission tech support and was told m7c1 was a good match for m70 rears and will be ok to use with m51 as fronts, judging by posts on this site m7c1 seems to be be a bit (weedy) compared to 77c1 just would like some advice on which sounds better thank you

Try and keep all speakers from the same manufacturer, don't mix and match.

If you go for the KEF's then ideally you will need the centre and rears to be KEF's aswell. If you go for the Missions then the same rule applies.

From what i have read in a post by a member with a good knowledge of home cinema, I don't think you will go far wrong with the KEF Q1's, this being KEF Q1's all round.

Also read up on his views on purpose built centre's with the 2xmidrange either side of the tweeter, very interesting.

Ok, for example if I were to go for the mission 780s, would it matter if I use m70s for rear, 77c1 for centre and the 77ds for rear?

In other words is it ok to keep all the speakers from the same manufacturer but different models (or drivers?) ?
