    You'll need three pairs, so I would look around for £20 pair (£60 set) max really.

    btw, I would replace that Sony amp that's driving the subwoofer...

    OK I've got this sub (detailed specs);

    SB-1 Specifaction Sheet from JBL.com

    I've currently got one of the two sub pre-outs from my Sony 940 5.1 amp going to another sony amp (TAFE230) powering the sub. It sounds pucka !

    The sub seems to have some serious power handlnig (300W) so I was wondering what I could do to upgrade the amplification, but I've just though that as I'm using a stereo amplifier I'm probably pumping 2 x55W into it bu it's an 8 ohm amp and a 4 ohm sub.

    I guess what i need is a 150W x 2 4ohm stereo amp?

    Something like this (160quid).... just what i'm after?

    fit's lovely under the sofa though :clap:

    Can you use a stereo poweramp to drive the subwoofer- the sub has 2 channel input?- most subs are powered with one channel. Is yours different?

    I would go for that £235 amp.

    btw I noticed it's got 4 drivers, what size drivers are they?

    4x 5.25" cones.

    It's a stereo sub (weird I know)

    I think it should be OK?

    I wonder if the rated input of 300W (in the PDF file) is total for both channels, or per channel?

    It won't harm using a higher powered amp, it just means it'll sound better at louder volumes.

    I bought 3 pairs of JVC cables from Dixons for £9 each.

    I think that's the first time I've ever said bought and Dixons in the same sentence.

    Seriously though, check them out. They are very similar to the QED cable I paid £20 for. They are the same screw metal cover design.
