Which HDD for Windows 7/Ubuntu 10.x?

I've just ordered Samsung F3 1TB but I am thinking of buying another HDD to keep the OS separate from document/media files.

Which one would you recommend?

I have £45 to spend

If that's all you want to do then don't bother getting a second hard drive, just make a 50GB partition at the start of the one you've already ordered.

Yes, but what's a second drive going to do? It just makes a failure twice as likely as you've now got two drives with each having the same chance to fail.
