Which HD Box ?

So... if this £49 offer is here, I'll probably order HD.

I've read many threads on here over time and from what I gather the Pace boxes were rated highly as were the Samsungs. Though I seem to be reading today lots of Pace lip sync issues. I also understand the Thomsons have very poor SD performance - something I saw for myself when I tested my mates on my tv.

What pray tell do you chaps recommend as the HD box of choice? (if I happen to be lucky enough to get a choice!)
