which Hauppauge Digital Terrestrial PCI card ?
I am currently building a media centre pc and I
now have everything apart from a digital TV card
that I want to plug into my digital ready TV ariel.

Can anyone comment here as to which the best card
is to use that integrates with media centre edition ?

Does anyone know if its possible to watch one channel
whilst recording another channel on media centre and
does this mean I have to get a particular card?

    Help ?

Thanks but does anyone have these cards up and running with all the features of MCE2005 ?

Does it work just like Sky plus ?

Also has anyone got any links to cheap sites for these cards ?

Yes, I have dual Blackgold cards and they work flawlessly and with better features than Sky +. I am sure you can track them down on the Web, I bought mine as part of a package from StuartMC and I believe they were approx. £60 for the pair.

The Hauppauge Nova-T cards, come in both USB2 and PCI form, and have great support as they have their own forum, drivers are updated when nessecary and the support team are always looking into adding new features to the card such as DVB Radio support in Media Center..

The Sweetspot MCE is the same card - rebranded, pluggedintv are a forum sponsor and were offering a deal to forum members. He posts on this forum from time to time so support should be good, you could drop him a pm and ask for a good price ;) .

Can anyone comment on which is the better card and why ??

The Blackgold cards seem to be around the 60 pound mark where as the hauppauge cards seem to be around 40 quid

Are they worth the extra ??

Sorry I do not have both so I cannot tell you, but aprart from PQ, the black gold is low profile and has an FM tuner, that is the only difference I can think of..

I am still trying to work out what type of NOVA-T card will work OK with MCE2005.

Can anyone comment what kind of card they are using and post a note on here.

I know that some of the NOVA-T the cards have 90002 printed on them - do these work ?

Seesm like a dunb question but which are the latest drivers for the Nova-T with MCE2005? The web site has 2.1 but I have seen other posts suggesting 2.7. Can the 2.7 drivers for the Hauppage PVR products be used with Nova-T?

The 2.1 are the non MCE drivers, but they work well - I'm pretty sure that's what I'm using now.

I tried the latest 2.7a MCE drivers but they made my TV all stuttery (every 1-2 secs. constantly - I wanted to use these for the radio plug-in they developed).

I've also used the 2.5 MCE drivers with great success too.......

    Hope this helps

Another hands up for the BlackGold cards. I've had mine working flawlessly with MCE from the start. The other one that gets rave reviews is the Nebula but it's quite a bit more expensive.

Apparently it's the Black Gold card many of the off the shelve HCPCs come fitted with so that suggested to me reliability, and so far so good.

Thanks deksawyer but I am still confused. The Nova-T MCE driver is at www.hauppauge.co.uk/pages/support/support_mce.html and is v2.1. The 2.7 driver is shown as for various PVR products but not Nova-T.

Your post suggests the 2.7 can be used with Nov-T and MCE (although maybe not very sucessfully?)
