OK, I know the 9800XT is the most powerful Radeon on the market, followed by the 9800 pro ... where does the 9800SE fit it ?

    is it as powerful as a 9600pro , 9600xt or a 9700 pro?

    :)

    thanks mate .. a bit technical! ;)

    eg. a 9800pro has a Chipclock of 380 and a memclock of 680
    a 9800SE has a Chipclock of 380 and a memclock of 675
    a 9600XT has a Chipclock of 500 and a memclock of 600

so is the 9600XT superior in some aspects to the above card?

or is the core performance inducing aspect the chipset they use ?..ie the 9800s use R350 while the 9600XT uses RV360?

the 9600xt is the closest competetor and they are pretty close. both have 4 pipelines, both have 128bit ram (correct me if im wrong). The rv360 core (9600xt) isn't as efficiant as the r350 core (9800se) but runs faster to compensate for that.

The proper 9800np's/pro's and xt's leave the 9800se's for dead as they have 8 piplines, not 4. you can softmod some 9800se's and make them into fully working 9800np's or better, but the success rate is pretty low.

Well no need to look at the technical stuff just go look at the charts for the games you can see the difference in performance then :)
