wii play is good for fine control of the pointing and wiisports is good for jumping about and having fun waving the wiimote around.

Id jump in with Wii Sports, start with the tennis. Don't worry the wiimote will feel almost instantly natural to use! Personally I found Wii Play a bit weak but no complaints for a fiver!

    Def play Wii-Sports first!

Wii-play games are all based around pointing, so you should play through them, but Wii-sports is just the best game for the system at the moment!

    SO MUCH FUN!

Wii play is not all about pointing, the cow race is good fun for example and is all about tilt and steering, table tennis is not about point, etc....

Both Wii Play and Wii sports are excellent introductions...

Sports is really obvious how to use it, which would make a good game to start with.

Play gives you more insight into how the remote can be used and is slightly more technical (although still really easy and simple).

Zelda doesn't really use the controller's features much, since it is basically a cube port with the Wiimote tagged on, but it's still a great game nonetheless. I left this til last after I'd had plenty of fun with people messing about on Sports and Play (mostly Sports).
