I've just finished editing a couple of films with Adobe Premiere 6. They're currently taking up about 6Gb of space on my hard disk.

I was thinking of saving a VCD copy for TV viewing and a Divx 4/5 to keep on the PC. The Divx being the better quality copy.

What formats do you guys use? I don't want to delete these clips until I get the best quality copy I can get.

I'm thinking of getting a DVD burner when they come down a bit in price. Then this shouldn't be an issue anymore :)

The most economical way to keep "raw footage" is on DV tape.
You will be disappointed with VCD - (Mpeg 1) as it will not display well on a full size TV.
Send your edited footage back to DV tape, until you buy your DVD burner, --- "You know it makes sense" !

It just means I have to get a DV in convertor for my camera. It's a Sony TRV-120.

Or is it a software thing?
