I'll be trasferrring from Digital 8 camcorder to Panasonic DMR-E100 DVD recorder using the iLink/Firewire socket.

In my CPC catalogue they do various 4 way Firewire cables (same length) at different prices....

    £1.39
    £3.60
£3.38 (Transparent insulation and bradided cable)
£13.30 (99.99% POCC conductors, Advanced cable shielding, EMI suppressors  )

Basically, does it make any difference what quality cable you use when transferring digital data?

What am I likely to gain with the most expensive cable (obviously not pic quality!) or lose with a cheaper cable?

    Cheers.
