I've got broadband with bt so i could game on xbox live but have been doing it without a decent firewall. I wanted to know which company has the best firewall for gaming as i have heard it can slow gaming down on some pc.

imo the best systems out there are AVAST (AntiVirus) & Kerio (Firewall), both are free for personal use.

Sygate and Outpost are the least bandwidth heavy firewalls that I know of.
As good as ZoneAlarm is it will eat at your bandwidth\resources when online.

AVG anti virus is good and also make sure you scan for spyware regularly with Spybot and Ad-aware. Spywareblaster will stop the majority of spyware getting in as well.

I use ZoneAlarm but I still can't manage to run it when I'm playing online with Xbox or PS2 even though I set it up to trust those connections through my ICS. The Xbox/PS2 can never find DNS server if ZoneAlarm is running, any ideas how to sort that out?

    Tetlee,

When I used ICS I used to drop Internet and Trusted Zone Security to the medium setting.
As long as you definitely have PS2 and Xbox IP's as trusted hosts then I'm sure it should work. I have known people to drop the Zone Security to low sometimes to sort this as well.
This was with ZA Free Edition and it worked fine for over a year until I changed to a router.

    Regards
    :)

Kerio is excellent. You might want to go for the older 2.1.5 though as it is less bloated. You can return the newer one to a simpler state but it takes some fiddling.
