    Brogan,

TBH, I don't know. When I made mine, I went for a size that was slightly larger than my cable diameter, but many designs (eg. TNT) use BIG clip-on ferrites which are much bigger than the cable.

I know it's not relevant to all the audiophile stuff, but I reckon a small(ish) diameter ferrite with a bit of heat shrink looks pretty cool.

I think the thread I previously posted my piccies in has been deleted, so I will post again in the 'DIY Mains Cables' thread. These all show my heat shrinked ferrites.

    Regards

Yep seen that - thanks for that.
The general consensus seems to be to use ferrites which just fit around the cable without too much of a gap.
I guess the closer it is to the conductor, the better a job it does.

I actually got all my stuff from RichardH here on the forum.
Apparently he had arranged a group buy previously and had some bits left over (plus some new bits he had to order) so it was just as easy to get them from him rather than Maplins/CPC.

I guess I'm being a bit thick here, but how do the sizes work on the Maplin link above, as there are two MAX's and a MIN size?

LOL - that's why I got Richard to sort it for me...;)
Send him a PM and he may be able to supply the part numbers, although he gets his bits from CPC, not Maplins
