Have got about £250 to spend on a dvd player
which can play R1 & R2 which one should i go for?
I'd go for the Toshiba SD100E. You can get it multi-region from plenty of shops for around £199-£219. Check out the advertisers in the mags. It has unrivalled picture and sound quality.
Although a good player (I was considering it myself), at the moment the Tosh only has automatic region switching. This means that they can't play R1 RCE discs without using work arounds.
You could try the Hitachi 505 from dixons with the multiregion software from my site.
I have one its great.
Techtronics will have an RCE fix for the Toshiba's soon, so wait around. The Toshiba 100E beats my £400 Pioneer 626D for picture and sound quality. My Advice is WAIT!
